Play It Forward Therapy: AOTA Approved CEU Provider

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants can receive AOTA approved credits for attending Play It Forward Therapy’s Courses.

Play It Forward Therapy is proud to announce it has recently been named an approved provider of continuing education by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc, (AOTA).

Occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants who attend one of Play It Forward Therapy’s courses and complete a quiz and post-webinar feedback survey can receive continuing education units (CEUs).

“My goal is to provide practical, evidence based continuing education in the field of pediatric occupational therapy.” said Jessica McMurdie OTR/L, founder of Play It Forward Therapy and Stepping Stones Therapy Network. “My hope is to bridge OT best practices and current research, with real world lessons that therapists can immediately apply to their practice. I’ve been lucky to have some amazing mentors during my professional journey, and now it’s my time to give back and pass along what I’ve learned to others.”

AOTA’s Approved Provider Program (APP) promotes high quality and relevant professional development (PD) activities that support best practice services to consumers. Once recognized, an AOTA Approved Provider has the ability to award AOTA CEUs for PD activities related to the practice of occupational therapy. These CEUS satisfy state licensure requirements, which occupational therapy practitioners are required to complete to keep current on their education as well as to enhance their clinical knowledge and expertise.

“We’re looking forward to hosting some new, highly relevant courses on pediatric telehealth. The course is called T-School or “Telehealth School” for therapists and will be launched in Summer of 2020.” says McMurdie. “I’ve been working on perfecting my clinic’s telehealth program since 2016, and I’ve learned what it takes to run a successful virtual visit program, from both the provider’s side and the client’s side of the screen. I hope to teach other therapists my step-by-step process so they can overcome any telehealth challenges they’re facing. Right now it seems like the wild west of telemedicine! The AOTA APP program was established in 2001 and since then, has grown to more than 250 approved providers within the United States.
